A good way to start is with an HPDE event at Laguna Seca or Thunderhill. Hooked on Driving or Audi Club run great beginner events. You get an instructor for the weekend, and drive your own car. Any car but an SUV is fine for your first couple of track days. People drive fancy cars. But you'll also see Honda Fits. If you message me privately I'm happy to share more!
