’s 24 for 2024, created my very own list of 24 fun things to do in 2024.Right at the very top of the list was relearn the piano.
I learned a little as a kid and at high school. Unfortunately, because I didn’t keep it up, I can only sight read on my right hand, and have completely forgotten how to play with my left hand.
(By the way, is it true that most adults who were forced to learn an instrument by their parent end up being grateful for their parent’s perseverance?)
So as part of a little pact that I made with myself of doing something fun every single day….I am actually really enjoying stumbling and relearning something that brings me so much joy.
“Things I love to do” list
Turning inward and asking, "What do I like?" is a crucial step on the journey of self-discovery.
Last year, I made a Things I love to do list.
Soon after writing the list, I woke up to the most beautiful day! I remembered that riding my scooter by the beach was on the list. So before I left the house to do errands, I popped the scooter in the car.
In between errands, I took a detour to the beach, popped on my sunglasses and scootered along the walkway overlooking the sparkling ocean.
I was only out there for about 10 mins, but it was enough to fill my cup!
On my drive home, I decided to do something completely different and listened to the radio!
I never listen to the radio.
The station I stumbled across played the best songs, and it reminded me of my love of music. So, I added it to my list.
Happiness lies in the little things.
Embracing daily moments of joy, whether it's rediscovering an old passion, taking an impromptu scooter ride by the beach, or creating a new playlist, can create a ripple effect of positivity.
Take a moment to think about your own Things I love to do list. It's the little, everyday joys in these simple actions that can truly enrich and transform your life.
👉 I would love to know what you would add to your list.
I've got a list of 26 from A to Z. It starts with Aviation, Birdwatching and Children (spending time with my kids) and finishes with Exercise (yeah, I cheated there), Y (and X) - this means genealogy, come on, it's not easy finding X, Y and Z. Speaking of which Z is zoological - spending time with animals. I'd forgotten about the list and not paid attention to it for a couple of years. Thanks for the reminder.
Wonderful! We're on the same illustrated page (again)! Love your list and graphic. (Next week I share a daily scheduling tool I call the JoyFinder. It's about orienting your day around tiny bits of joy you can easily find just laying around.)
